His ugly face and his smugness and superiority, yes, and he’s a dirty liar. They all lie (except Sanders and Warren, it seems) but Walker genuinely thinks he’s pulling a fast one on the residents of Wisconsin (which, I guess, he is, seeing as how they re-elected him) and he can therefore just lie from one day to

I can’t believe how horrible he is. My fiancé, who’s not as interested in politics as I am, didn’t really understand until recently why I hate Walker so much. Unfortunately, there are plenty of recent examples that show how Walker’s role as a Koch puppet can screw over the rest of the country even if he doesn’t get

But who is going to protect the children from *you*, Scott Walker?

Better than a set of lower lips on the wrist, right, Demi Lovato?

“...all these 30-something stoners have made it lame for the teens.”

Personal trainer is way out of my price range. The gym is on my way to work so it’s not a big deal to go there, it’s just a little unsafe to walk through my neighborhood to get the bus or train to get to my classes. I’m just dealing with it, so far.

Yeah, Roosevelt is my usual stop for the gym. It’s the part to/from the Orange by my house that’s problematic.

Nope, there is not a thing by my house. Nothing. It’s not far from my gym via bus or train, it’s mostly that the bus is unreliable and it’s a semi-dangerous walk before the sun comes up. I’m dreading the winter.

Yeah, I’m overlooking Michigan right now and my team is getting moved to the other side of the Loop soon. I am going to miss my long summer lunches in the parks, and at the Art Institute, and at Ulta. :(

I’m on the near South Side. Not a thing down here. But I work in the Loop so it’s not too bad!

Yup, I really get into music in spin that I would never otherwise listen to. And it’s amazing how the slow music kills it. As a comparison, my *average* heart rate in this Sunday’s spin class, which is hip-hop/dance-heavy and I don’t even like a lot of it, was higher than my *peak* heart rate for Saturday’s slow

That’s a good way to look at it. I’m just not that optimistic. I mentioned in another post that I work in the Loop and used to live in the South Loop, which I adored, but I bought a house and now live a bit farther out. Totally doable, but the first few weeks I was trying to take the bus to my early spin classes there

I feel ya. My Saturday morning instructor is mostly into Pilates/yoga and has a unique approach to cycling (very focused on form, which is good, but frustrating) and plays really slow music. I think she’s great but her class frustrates me a bit. I’ve conditioned myself to think of her class as a “50%” class.

Ohhhhh... my very fave Shred415 instructor is at Old Town and Lakeview! Lucky you!

Yeah, I’ve seriously thought about that. Ideally, I’d add a couple classes a week to my regular regimen, and start by going to one place I already know I adore, and then I’d probably end up following my instructors at the other classes they teach at other ClassPass studios. Honestly, though, it seems like it’ll just

Do you really spin every morning? Damn. I go 4x/week and it burns me out.

I love Shred415. My favorite fitness instructor I have ever had left my regular gym to join Shred415, so I’ve gone to her classes a few times, and I go whenever the free lululemon classes work with my schedule, and I have bought class packs a couple times.

Your last sentence is what I’m grappling with. But there’s a HIIT place here that I love, and I’d go visit my Pilates instructor at her other studios, and damn, kettle bells? Would love that.

Because I am also in Chicago and I need to know: Do you have a car? If you do, do you take it to the studios? I find taking public transportation to classes INSANELY stressful. I used to live within walking distance to my regular gym and the Shred415 location I dropped into occasionally, and had to take the train to
