I love the art style Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2. Hell, I love just about everything about Guild Wars 1 (minus its lack of replay value). Jeremy Soule's music is incredible, and the concept art as well as the visual style in-game blew my mind six years ago. Too many games have anime-styled graphics (WoW is succumbing

@chrollo0427: Yeah, it's important to an extent, you're right. It shows that you have the ability to rapidly react to a situation and move your units quickly. It's when people do stupid shit just to "get their APM up" that makes it pointless. I've been playing against custom AI since the day they were available

PC games that are usually pirated are typically half-assed ports that aren't worth purchasing. Look at The Force Unleashed, that game doesn't even have options for graphical settings. If it doesn't run so well on your PC, too bad.

@chrollo0427: APM is stupid, "pro" players will spam rally points at the beginning of a match in order to keep their average APM count high. Really, all APM exists for is to be a pissing contest amongst players, it really doesn't have a whole lot to do with skill unless you're in a ridiculously intense battle and

@Fenlain: This, on the other hand...

@Deanb: Hate to break it to you, but the final product of that ThermalTake case is much less attractive than the concept picture you posted. Imagine no chrome, and matte black plastic (think PS3 slim or PS2) on all surfaces. Still $799.

@Turkeyslam: That's what this is looking like, to be honest. Talent Trees, generic MMO classes, cartoony style. I bet you ride giant mynocks from town to town, and I bet Warlocks are still op.

Wait, you mean to tell me there is a class out there meant to take damage more than any other class? And one that does damage? I bet there will be a "Jedi Healer" role, too. Groundbreaking stuff, Bioware.

@buddhatooda: Kills me, because Blizzard can afford (like, really, they can, seriously) to polish the fuck out of this game. I really expected Cataclysm to polish up everything about old WoW. Stuff like higher resolution textures, bumping up poly counts on everything (especially those old Elwynn Trees, ugh). I love

What an in-depth and informing article. I'm glad I clicked on this in order to read the full story. Thanks, Mike.

@ChromaticMagus With Rainbows: Guild Wars was a Co-Operative Online Role-Playing Game (CORPG), whereas Guild Wars 2 is set up as an MMORPG.

Heh, I've more than likely bought games from this guy. I live in Downtown Pittsburgh, Oakland is a five minute bus ride. Just kind of funny to see some news I can actually relate to. Either way, the guy acted as a representative of the company, unfortunately, by acting as though he was speaking for their policies. A

The mouth really adds a dimension of glazed over boredom and general lack of intelligence, very much unlike Scarlett Johansson.

@hayesr: Attendance at PAX was around 55k, and everyone during the panels responded very positively to people asking for more Lookouts or other continuity based comics. Don't get me wrong, I love the social commentary comic style, but one or two 4-6 page continuity comics a year really isn't that bad. Usually there's

@hayesr: I don't go there to see Tycho flexing his artistic muscle, because it's Mike (Gabe) who does the comic. And, you've got to be the only one who doesn't like it, because at PAX there were fifty-five thousand of us begging for more Lookouts and Automata.

@Anizawa: Blizzard barely had their fingers in that pie. Ghost was made by another company using Blizzard assets, and with minimal input from Blizzard. Think like Halo Wars, and how Bungie was very minimally involved. The thing is, Blizzard's got a ridiculous pedigree, and they most likely felt that ghost wasn't
