And it was interesting because of the power dynamic - Missandei was still leading proceedings even when she was naked and Greyworm was most vulnerable when he _wasn't_ naked (because of the reason he didn't want to be) which is also unusual for screen sex scenes.

Without meaning to be reductive about your pain (which to me sounds like one of the worst imaginable) I guess it's hard to be sure whether the morphine made a difference unless you were also unlucky enough to go through it _without_ painkillers (by way of a direct comparison I mean) ?

The whip is very in keeping with one of the underlying ideas of the show though IMO - it's all about expectations versus reality (ours as viewers and the characters' too). Nymeria, as the article says, literally brought a whip to a sword fight because her and her sisters' expectations of battle were wildly off

Also, how did Euron know which ship was theirs out of the whole fleet and on that note, how did he even find their fleet in the first place ? To paraphrase Douglas Adams, seas are big. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist but that's peanuts to seas.

Oh we'll be in the ground before climate change really starts to grimly reap. Umm, unless you're under 25 in which case… sorry ?

Exactly ! That's the silver lining, Doom VFR was announced at E3. Truly we live in a blessed age.

That doesn't seem to be an accurate portrayal of events. Or at least, it's more complicated than that.

Personally 'Children of Earth' is my favourite series of 'Torchwood' because it's where they finally worked out that "darker and more adult" doesn't just equal "swearing and shagging" (lots of series 1 was borderline unwatchable for a lot of reasons but that was one IMO). The last series was a decent idea but poorly

More like the UK's Puerto Rico maybe (it's not in the UK).

Vodka enema ?

I'm not sure we actually see Beth and Mark eat but i'm pretty sure we see them talking at the dinner table afterwards (in the UK version anyway).

Found out a few weeks back that BBC America sometimes even cuts content from 'Doctor Who'. Worth bearing in mind when discussing stuff with US viewers that we might not only have a different take on the show in question, we may actually have watched _slightly_ different episodes.

Ah right. Yep, not exactly a geographically consistent accent then. Maybe just the English accent Liam Cunningham (an Irishman) is happiest doing ?

Well, ish I guess. You can be middle-class in Sheffield, same as you can be working-class in York and by and large I think that's a bigger influence (given that they're both Yorkshire). Must admit though, I haven't looked at it in any detail (could well be that there's a sort of "standard English gradient" running

My take is that King's Landing is kind of a London analogue (seat of power, in the south east, milder climate etc.) and so the Lannisters and other native southerners on the show usually have south eastern English accents (RP for the aristocrats - like Cersei, Jamie, Joffrey etc. - and just normal SE English for the

I'm not 100% sure where Seaworth is supposed to be re: the north/south divide in Westeros but Davos has a fairly mild Newcastle or maybe Sunderland accent, which are on/near the north east coast of England - to the UK ear at least it fits well with his background as a crabber's son since it's both working class and

He did a _reasonable_ job as the baddie in 'Goldeneye' (who was a peer of Bond's and so had a public school, RP accent) but he didn't have a huge amount of dialogue. Normally he plays Yorkshire and is clearly out of his comfort zone when he doesn't.

Agreed. He's ambivalent because he still loves her but he's also definitely wondering if she's gone/going off the deep end and how far he's willing to follow her down if so. A pivotal moment is definitely approaching for Jamie IMO.

Maybe but in the same scene she gives her age as 40 and in Game of Thrones land that's pretty old to be having kids, which Jamie seemed to feel himself (he says their kids are all dead but doesn't then talk about having more).

Yeah, same here. Not a big bettor on sport but i've made money on both Brexit and the last UK general election (my thinking with Brexit was that it'd definitely be close and might go with Leave, in which case i'd at least have the tiny consolation of a few extra quid in my pocket while sitting in a corner rocking back
