No. It was a joke making fun of a rapist. We need lots, lots more jokes that publicly call out a rapist's behavior.
No, it was a joke at Cosby's expense. It wasn't directed at any woman but him. Two different things.
Living human treasures Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda were tapped to announce the award for Best Actor in a TV…
Holy shit, that George Clooney joke was straight up brilliant.
Here's Amy Poehler and Tina Fey opening the Golden Globes mean girl bestie-style with a series of sick burns on the…
Hey, instead of telling us "Not All Men Rape" (because we already know that), here's what you should do: Be part of the solution instead of part of the problem. Call out dudes who make sexist statements or harass women, make the world a safer place for women instead of being the one defensive dude that wants to be…
"But only 13.6 were willing to endorse the statement that they would they would rape a woman under the same circumstances."
So conspiracy theorists like you would have something to do.
I see the same stuff every few weeks. Is anyone ever going to DO anything about this? Looking at our society right now, the answer is no. These studies should be shown on MEN's interest sites, not just sites like Jezebel. When someone is raped, our whole culture fails. Family members, "friends", coworkers, and the…
I can agree that many people would do all sorts of awful shit if they could get away with it but I don't believe that list of awful things would include inflicting bodily harm and trauma on another person. Things like stealing, cheating, and fraud are one thing but willing to commit violent crimes with ease is against…
Aww, thanks for "clearing that up" for me, guy. Words, eh? Only men can really understand them.
Why would anyone be surprised reading this? We get a confirmation of this every minute, every hour, every day all over the world. Violence against women, sexual and otherwise, is massive and epidemic. Men, for the most part, don't care and many women, for the most part, don't care either.
Nah, they want to rape women and not be called rapist. It's the word, see? They're fine with the actual raping, it's the word they loathe.
This is rape culture.
This doesn't surprise me. It seems to me that a lot of people don't think that their partner being drunk or high counts. Or that pressuring them counts. Threatening but not actually using force.
Doing a study on a small scale is a way of generating interest and therefore funding for a larger study.
In CBT, I learned about catastrophizing—that is, my need (our collective need?) to imagine the worst possible outcome to every situation so that I can be prepared for that outcome.
One of the biggest lessons I got of my adult life is learning that, unless a choice will kill you or hurt you physically/mentally/economically in a way you can't come back from, all the stress over choices is silly.
