That was just bizarre, if I had to guess I’d say they realized they’d screwed up the call fairly quickly and were using all of that time to figure out how much time should be on the clock. But the clock stopped correctly at 1:59 anyway.
Yeah there just aren’t enough quarterbacks in the world as far as I can tell. Compared solely to other backups in the league Sanchez is a strong ‘meh’ but not like...godawful in comparison.

Kenpom loved Tennessee that year. I looked it up the other day wondering if any top 10 teams in Kenpom had ever been a double digit NCAA seed before, Tennessee 2013-2014 was the only one (they were 10th in the nation according to Pomeroy).
There’s another angle where it’s obvious he got him on the thigh. Which in other circumstances would have been a bad tag I guess, but he was out by so far that it didn’t come close to making a difference.
I don’t know, as far as it goes that seems like an at least somewhat legit thing? Assuming there’s some reasonable amount of time for courts to decide whatever they were supposed to rule on for his appeal it makes sense that if they never do then the courts screwed up.
