>>>The original's montage more organically built up their reputation and a massive amount of ghosts to be unleashed. I felt in this one they got the hang of ghostbusting, trapped one fucking ghost, and then they were being hindered by the government immediately.

Oh, God, here we go again! The ritual drubbing on Paul Feig's Ghostbusters!

From a feminist po

"Arrested attempted a structural feat of staggering ambition—but it’s telling how few fans prefer any of those over the original."

As soon as I possibly can, that's gonna be a gif.

In the beginning to last week's show, during the recap, they showed Valencia in tears from episode 2, asking "Why did you pretend to be my friend?" I was impressed by that. It made it clear that Valencia, who we're obviously not supposed to like, has good reasons for hating Rebecca. They made a point of it.

Either Greg's dad is really badly written, or he's going to turn out to be a manipulative bastard. If this was a Hallmark Holiday special, I'd assume the former.

What struck me on a second viewing was that it was Stacy, Daryl's cheating wife, and NOBODY'S idea of " a good person", who broke Rebecca's delusion. It was pretty neat.

"I'm a dude, and I love this show so much I want to skin it and wear it like a dress, but also its looking at me in that dress."

I'm not going to ask you to be nicer to Crazy Ex-Girlfriend any more, (you're totally nice) but i have to point out that i just see it differently. These structural flaws just don't mean that much to me, even when I notice them. Episode 3 "I Hope Josh comes to my Party" just about had me panting on the floor. Why?

As far as I'm concerned, Rachel Bloom is SuperDUPERgirl!

Never seen a hostage taken during a musical number before.

I've hassled you about being too critical of this show in the past, and I promise I'm done with that. This is your way of enjoying the show, and you should knock yourself out.

I LOVE Ava Acres! (But not in a creepy way.)

Last night, Rachel tweeted: "Rebecca's on the ring because she's a responsible modern woman, in charge of her life."

I'm going to assume that Josh knows the theology, and Father Brah is just giving Josh good practical advice. Forgetting about your thoughts is the best way to forget about your thoughts

I was amazed at the risks last night's episode took. Rachel is swinging around on that pretzel without a net.

>>The setup is “oh-my-god-I’ve-totally-done-that-I-am-the-worst” levels of
familiar (at least for me, so maybe I’m accidentally revealing a lot
about myself here)

The title didn't impress me, so the last thing I checked out was the "Cake Farts Song, and that's just wonderful. It's one of the few live performances with an audience. You really get to hear her belt out the song.

There are a lot of reasons why this was my favorite episode. Number 1 was the conceit of Ava Acres as 12 year old Rebecca. Nobody mentioned Rebecca singing a duet with her 12 year old self, which I think was the best thing ever, I especially love when they hugged during the boy-band scene. That was amazing. A
