While I haven’t done much research, isnt there a way to “bulletproof” a 6.0 to make it much more reliable while also being more powerful than the 7.3?

Yeah, I would have voted CP had I not randomly seen a couple on Craigslist and looked into why in the hell a 20 years old ford SUV was being listed for $15k or something.
Isn’t it weird? I have been watching it happen for a year now. It came out of nowhere. My only justification is that any Excursion you find is probably in better shape than an equivalently aged F-250 would be, but is in much shorter supply.
Prices are nuts because, as Rob mentioned, the 6.0 diesel that replaced this 7.3 is terrible. I’ve been casually shopping for these, and low mile versions are routinely priced at near double this one. It’s insane.
Friend of mine bought one of these several years ago to use with his shop and tow his Mustang around...still going strong. NP, very wrong, friend.
It only seats 8, has space for all your gear, and can tow whatever you want. It’s a specific vehicle for specific needs. And I need it.
The miles and the lack of a transfer case had me at Crack Pipe before I bothered to look up comps.
Anyone voting CP hasn’t looked at what a 7.3 Excursion commands on the market. This is pristine if a little high on mileage.
Not if you actually want to tow and have all that interior volume there isn’t.
Great tow vehicle, although I’d rather have 4WD. NP
This is a dinosaur and should die. No love from me. It’s too much excess of everything, with nothing to justify the lofty price. Maybe if your family is in double digits . . . but there are better choices even then.
I prefer this flavour of fiery death.
Mama calls it Group 4...imma call it Group 4
OK for those of us who dont know a whole lot about Group 4 rallying but are interested here’s a link.
Group 4! Group 4! Group 4!
i am also excited to 9 miles to the gallon lol
:)
people who drive crazy on mud tires are even worse. they don’t realize that once they get to around 6/32 tread depth they are practically worthless off road.
Yeah, people NEVER take Wranglers off road....
what’s a mall?
