I’m actually looking forward to BoFA’s Extended Edition release, because they’ll reinclude several important scenes that I can then edit into my two-hour fan-edit. Removing the funeral at the end was especially confusing, so I can’t wait to reinclude it.

I would like someone to do a 2 hour fan edit of all three movies.

Can confirm, was 13 when I first watched it, barely understood what was going on. Cool music, though.

On the advice of commenters on Gizmodo, I tried Clue and like it much better than Ruby. The interface is faster and makes a lot more sense to me.

I’d be more surprised to hear about a novelist who got it right on the first try. Heck, I went through ten years and nine novels before writing the one I’m publishing.

Agreed. ‘I am the only person who can bring myself happiness’ works sometimes, for some people, but it has a dark underbelly.

It’s not every day I see an io9 headline, do a spit-take, and scream ‘THEY STOLE MY FANFIC PLOT’, but here we are.

I remember loving this as a kid because her magic really made sense on a gut level. It wasn’t ‘wave a wand and say some words, and a thing happens’; she had to learn to exert her will and think in certain patterns.

Is this a tongue-in-cheek reference to Walmart HQ? Because if not, I’m going to need directions to this fortress immediately because it sounds excellent.

I’m a regular JL8 reader who hadn’t heard about the hiatus, and had to go check Yale Stewart’s official Facebook. Here’s his post about it.

Do they take requests? It’d be so cool to be able to commission one of these for a personalized piece of art, or album cover.

Reminds me of the one time I tripped on research (we were told it was acid but later found out it was most likely 2C-B, should have known when the blotter was extremely bitter). As you stare at a blank space while tripping, you can watch your brain extrapolating and finding patterns that aren’t there, filling in the

Try reading TrashBoat’s post as a parody of the vitriol thrown around by both sides. ‘HEY GUYS REMEMBER THAT THING WE HATE, GRR GNASHING TEETH, EXAGGERATED STRAW MEN’. Then it becomes pretty funny and even thought-provoking, putting things into perspective. But thanks to Poe’s Law, you and I initially read it as

It doesn’t have to be your wedding night. If you’ve decided to wait until marriage, I highly recommend doing it the day after your wedding.

Roughly halfway done recording the audiobook version of my novel. Also, almost done with a two-hour fanedit of the Hobbit trilogy.

Whenever overpopulation comes up, I love to tell people about Universe 25. Bonus tie-in idea: overpopulation’s potential effect on the advent of ‘muckers’, insane people who snap and go on horrifying killing sprees.

The way I first heard it, a carjacker/kidnapper will force their victim to continue driving, but will take their shoes so that they can’t make a break for it. So if a cop sees a pair of people in a car and the driver is without shoes, they might assume it’s a hostage situation.
