Agreed, mixing milk and shredded cheese into pasta, is not going to make a cheese sauce and pleasant creamy mac and cheese. I foresee mac and cheese with clumps of grainy cheese all over and overall a dry experience, especially if reheating any leftovers.

This seems odd to me because the typical creamy mac-and-cheese sauce is milk + flour with cheese slowly added in to avoid having the sauce become grainy or break.
