What ethnicity do you identify with most?

NBC’s run by a bunch of old lily whites with an insulated perspective. I’m sure they don’t realize that they’re broadcasting their narrow worldview. The Olympics are going to be a lot more interesting to watch once all the old white people are dead (of old age).

I agree, and I agree with the article as well: partially autonomous vehicles are dangerous. This reply thread is about fully autonomous vehicles and their viability, and I believe one can be entirely against partially autonomous vehicles while also entirely supportive of fully autonomous vehicles (of the future).

The brain often fails to see an object on the road at all. How do you think “accidents” happen?

No one’s saying that we can have fully-autonomous vehicles now. It will happen in the future, and anyone that says otherwise is simply stupid and unimaginative.

I remember watching some video from China where a baby gets run over by a car, and they just keep on going as though they ran over a speed bump. The idea that humans are such amazing operators of vehicles is such a fucking fantasy.

That was hilarious. French people are the worst, amirite?

I can’t look at you any more askance.

Well just think about your average couch potato American that probably isn’t even going to vote this upcoming election. Most people are just bystanders in life, but thank god for those 3 that aren’t.

She didn’t say she wrote the speech herself. She just said she wrote it. Like, she wrote it down, while reading Michelle Obama’s speech. Technically, she isn’t lying. :x

Sounds to me like you like battles, not stories. I don’t think you’ll enjoy this show.

That’s just your own perception. For example when I think of the 90s, I think of grunge rock and rebelling against authority. Terminator 2. Gangsta rap. A focus on being genuine and conscientious. Rejecting the status quo. Early 90s stuff.

I don’t know if I’d be so cynical.

I would imagine that with cosplaying always becoming more popular, it only makes more sense that the pool of people will become more diverse, including very attractive people. Factor in the ever-increasing standards of cosplaying and I imagine less attractive people and people with lesser tailoring/costuming skills

[nothing to see here.]

In general, it just seems like they should try to hire/train more physically intimidating refs. I felt like the Peruvian captain was trying to tell one of the assistant refs that if he keeps making a case, he’s gonna murder his family—pretty sure his intimidation must’ve had some influence in the end decision.

That’s really a good way to look at it. People looked at me like I had a third eye when I said I’d go see Warcraft, and the assumption was “why watch a silly, unintelligent movie?” And yet just a couple of weeks ago we saw X-Men: Apocalypse, which was terrible and went on forever. No one goes to see a superhero movie

That’s good to hear. Sadly, that seems like a better experience than my own in America. This hasn’t happened in a decade, but I remember when I was younger I’d often been praised by white folks because of my “good English.” I probably had a better command of the language and knowledge of American history than they

I feel bad for your Korean students’ parents, as I can understand the parents’ desire to ensure that their Korean heritage isn’t eventually forgotten. I can also relate to a 2nd+ generation immigrant’s desire to simply fit in and not run into practical issues of otherness. Sometimes we just want to belong and not
