My theory is that these people project their own vices on the rest of the world, assuming that since they are or could be so corrupt and self-serving, then surely everyone else must be too.

You can say this about every single profession, but we know that most people are not crooked. Obviously there are companies that do sponsored research for things like “the health benefits of smoking tobacco” or “was the Deepwater Horizon incident really all that negatively impactful on the Gulf Coast ecosystem?” But…

I think the character animations look terrible during the conversations, but it matches my expectations and so I don’t have a problem with it. I do wonder when they’ll ever get better at that sort of thing though...

I’m with you, for sure. I can’t believe I have to say this, but I suspect no one here is counting medals by race or anything like that. As far as I’ve seen the complaints are about not getting even attention—that’s it.
