My big accomplishments this week are a little shallow, but fuck it. I spent most of my early twenties in some kind of serial monogamy, but after my last big break up I’ve promised myself to spend some time alone and generally be-a-slut-do-whatever-you-want. After about a month of being super down, I’ve been doing

I have a brag I feel funny about.

Ran 9.3 miles this week and went to yoga twice, which was not bad considering all the other crap I was dealing with.

I think I’ve finally made up my mind that this is my last year in this job. The tipping point was when my school head emailed me to verify whether I accepted assignments for a student since I’m assuming the family most likely made contact to contest the grade I gave their child for the last quarter. Just the fact that

Went to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned for the first time in four years on Monday and had zero cavities! Plus the dentil hygienist heaped high praise upon my gums, which are apparently quite perfect. So, that was cool (especially since I really couldn’t have afforded to fix anything that was wrong...)

I feel selfish for complaining about this with every thing else that’s going on in the world, but I’m at home with my sick cat, who I think I am going to have to say goodbye to on Monday, and need to get it out somewhere.

I am so glad you finally got ungreyed! You are a fantastic person who deserves lots of brags.

Yay beauty thread!! I just finished a paid (!) wedding makeup gig, which was so fun! I’m kinda considering getting a cosmetology license and a professional kit and making this my side hustle, but all that shit’s expensive so maybe not. :/ I ended up buying a fuck-ton of stuff at Sephora for this wedding anyway though,

My former principal nominated me to serve on a state council for special education. She thinks I would be a good candidate and I would bring a different perspective working with American Indian and at risk children. I'm honored.

I survived a very busy month at work! So glad to be able to relax!

Appleton rim club soda & a splash of cranberry. Hammock view of Jamaica seaside. Rereading Marge Piercy, smokin a fat spliff. Cheers y'all!

I am drinking a six dollar bottle of some wine I found at 7-11 while avoiding the gapers.

Look at all this stuff I got done yesterday evening! LOOK AT IT! Unfortunately I have a messy-ass family and half of it needs to be done again, but I can't because I'm very busy patting myself on the back.

Applied for QA at work. Had my boss write me a list of accomplishments(I don’t pay attention, I’m not usually much for ego)

It took me over a decade, and borrowing from three different libraries, but I finally finished reading Umberto Ecco’s The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana. Feelin’ accomplished! I normally am a really fast reader.

Hi Jez friends! This is your Brag Thread! Any grand accomplishments, big or small, that you haven’t had a chance to brag about yet? My brag: I got ungreyed here!!! Yay! Can’t wait to read your brags. ♡

Now THAT should have been the new theme song. Since the studios are into recycling everything anyway. Awesome!

Yup, have this one, too. n_n

Now playing

This song can’t hold a candle to the awfulness that is LL Cool J’s theme song for Deep Blue Sea. (“Deepest/Bluest/My hat is like a shark’s fin!”)

I'm so, so sorry everyone. Apparently, Paul Feig did get my letter asking for a Missy Elliot remixed theme song. But... this... this is not what I wanted. I wanted something girl power in the spirit of Lady Marmalade from Moulin Rouge. Not... this travesty. I take full responsibility.
