What I really want to get him is a screen to cover the door so I can leave it open. He used to sit at the screen door, but there isn't one here. Some of ny neighbors have them, but I haven't met them yet.

That sounds scary as hell to just wake up and not know what happened.
I need to do this. My new apartment has a view that I love, but the cat is bored by sweeping vistas.
Thanks! I’m doing great, higher risk of stroke but on blood thinners to prevent it.
Yes actually this is essentially what I did - I cleaned my bedroom and made it more organized and livable. When I have flairs of anxiety and antisocial behaviors, this really helps me to refocus myself.
Ooo, pickles, yum! I love pickled beets but almost never make them myself. That’s a lot of work!
I actually cleaned the room and made some phone calls. I feel MUCH better thanks :)
I didn’t manage to actually clean house today but I did make some pickled cucumbers and pickled beets, so I am looking forward to those.
That’s funny, I’m super-periody and I did a bunch of house-nesting stuff today too! I didn’t think about it but maybe it was self-soothing. I definitely feel better, having things cleaner and more in order.
I’m worried about the possibility that my dad could be having some sort of thing with one of his old employees who is just a few years older than I am :(
my mom called me earlier because she found suspicious texts from my dad’s old employee to him. She is a couple of years older than I am and back in school on the other side of the country. I told her that it’s probably fine if he’s not reciprocating, but still :(
I just returned from a young women’s leadership conference where I was on the planning committee and a workshop facilitator. I’ve been running retreats, conferences, and workshops on gender and intersectionality for almost 10 years (mostly higher ed) and it’s something I really LOVE doing. In fact, I’m pretty dang…
Ministrokes (T.I.A.s): has anyone here had one? One second I was doing my job and the next (no idea but how long it was) I hear my boss and our first aid team telling me it’s okay an ambulance is on the way. I was like ‘ambulance wtf I’m just doing my job.’
OKAY! A few things!
Clean out a drawer. For some reason this helps me.
My, Bernie looks crotchety up there.
I just moved to the couch to use my computer since I hate typing on my phone. I think I’m going to (barf) order Dominos. Portland has delicious food but for some reason my house is in a pizza delivery dead zone and Dominos and Pizza Hut are my only two options. But I am so incredibly lazy today that I don’t want to…
Try to get plenty of sleep the night before, make sure you eat a good meal 2-3 hours before the interview, and arrive a little early so you can find a rest room to use before the interview (I need to pee when I’m nervous, so that’s a must for me). Take deep calming breaths and, if you have some privacy, stand like…
Going on a third interview on Monday. I’ve taken some time away from work to deal with some personal shit so I’m scared about getting back into the work force. This job will be a bit of a deviation from what I have done in the past but I think it will be a great place to work and wonderful opportunity. Wish me luck!
My 4 yr old nephew will be spending his birthday in the hospital getting a bone marrow transplant. Any ideas for an extra-special appropriate b-day gift that will help him get through this?
