You should report missing person (child or adult) as soon as you know they are missing. There is no rule about having to wait 24 hours, that is from TV only to increase drama etc.

Quick clarification- the Amber Alert wasn’t sent out at 2:30 PM, it was sent at 2:30 AM. (Source: I was awoken at 2:30 by an Amber Alert.) Less than 24 hours after the abduction, but still way too long afterwards.

I definitely shed a tear reading this. Most comedians slag off on their wives or girlfriends, but Patton made it abundantly clear he loves his wife and child. The story about his wife finding a gigantic rat and then looking for a new house is one of my all time favorite comedy bits.

You just know his daughter Alice, for all the horror and heartbreak she has and will continue to go through, will have her amazing dad by her side nonetheless. I imagine she grows into a strong, kind, and spectacular woman.
