I enjoyed the show when it had just started like 24 hours prior, but yeah I think I would've hated it if I had just waited a couple weeks to watch it. It feels shallow admitting that the internet stripped away my excitement for S2, but damned if the internet doesn't know how to run things into the ground in record

Never been big on Sgt Peppers, but the new remix of it definitely made me do an aboutface on it. Maybe it's cheating to prefer that mix over Pet Sounds, but I've never particularly cared for that album either (and I'm with Sean O'Neal's reasoning.)

the music playing the black car is by the band Uniform, who have one of the better Industrial Metal albums I've heard in a while.

so they literally put it randomly on Fridays with no lead-in

I don't dislike the music, but their inclusion feels like a really on the nose acknowledgement of part of the show's legacy. I don't think the scenes are entirely integrated well either.

I had only seen the first season of Twin Peaks before watching FWWM (for a long time, only the first season was available on DVD, and minus the pilot too!) It definitely took me a while to fully come around to it.

They could probably just watch up to Laura's murder being closed and then skip to the last 4 episodes or so.

I thought Cry Wilderness was the better (episode, not movie) of the two I've seen so far. 1101 was good, but definitely felt a bit too much like a pilot/promo, while 1102 felt a bit more fully formed altogether.

you could, but the experience isn't really the same.

yeah she's really not as good as people are making her out to be. She's a very samey actress whose shtick sometimes works better in some flicks than others (and is usually tied to overall quality.)

Pablo coming back to life with no explanation

I kind of feel like the show is just dicking around now.

I keep trying to rewatch X-Files, mostly because it reairs on some channels and I catch the occasional great episode. But retrying to watch it via Netflix is a chore: some of it just hasn't held up well visually (the ideas are often great, but look ridiculous in hindsight) or I find myself reminded about just how hit

Those later seasons were brutal

I'm going to be controversial and say the ending was potentially great. It's everything that lead up to the ending that made people hate it.

no, the Horn of Eld.

not getting the hate for the Gunslinger. I'd agree it's pretty different stylistically (and very dark) than the other books, but I didn't think it was a particularly hard read, especially for something so brief.

delicious Kurt Cobain skull bread bowl!

Yeah so much of what was cut out is redundant. The "Newt as Ripley's daughter" plot is already there and otherwise works, but adding the backstory would be too on the nose.

I dunno, all the dream sequence stuff felt like it didn't really take advantage of the possibilities of stretching out. All the non-dream stuff was great though.
