Not sure how I feel about it. It definitely feels like a retread, but I think I'm giving it some leeway in the hopes that the theorized plot twist/shift actually happens. Granted, that is unearned faith… but there has to be more to this season than just an odd retelling of Murde(r) House, right?

maybe I missed it all, but I was genuinely surprised at the overwhelming acclaim Gran Torino received and how very little controversy came of it. The revisionism and the White Savior stuff put it way into So Bad It's Good territory.

Also, one has to remember that Weiland's initial descent overshadowed the promotion of Tiny Music…

it was great when Ed Helms wasn't on the show. I felt that totally pointless characters like Erin were completely redeemed by giving them something to actually do.

I'd say Jim & Pam's wedding is the best place to stop. Granted, the show was already past its peak at that point, but that was more or less the logical end point of the show.

wouldn't that basically be Fresh Prince of Bel Air, but centered around Geoffrey?

yeah, it's fairly uneven, but pretty good. Bitter Fruit is one of the better tracks though.

I disliked the format: Roland tells a story about a time he told another story.

Eh, I prefer the original version, but I get why he revised the first book: there's a pretty dramatic shift in tone between the original and Drawing of the Three, with the latter more or less setting the tone for the rest of the series.

Hulu had 3 versions of the episode: East coast live, West coast live, then an international/syndication pre-recorded version.

did the Baby Boss sketch predate Rick & Morty? I couldn't get that bit out of my mind otherwise.

those 5 books in between though….

Green Day's fandom has a weird mentality where the band was completely unknown prior to American Idiot. I mean, that album was huge…. but it still hasn't outsold Dookie; not to mention the dozen or so top 40 tracks that came out prior to American Idiot.

to be fair, some of that didn't come to light until relatively late and T&G seems to be one of the few who didn't screw over their artists.

I was thinking he sort of looked like Jesse Pinkman, but played like Charlie Day.

eh, I don't know, maybe it's a take on Texan demographics, but I always thought KOTH's political commentary was very spotty. Outside of Dale, it's usually well-meaning, but old fashioned conservative is aghast, but ultimately open-minded vs. Forwards From Grandma Liberal gets mad about something.

"Congress is a bunch of clowns" is more or less South Park's entire oeuvre.

Kind of think the album's a bit over-rated; I'm certainly sick of Stars being the go-to track for album/band. Downward is Heavenward is definitely the better album, Electra 2000 is probably a better bet for the overlooked title as I almost never hear about it at all.
