So the scene with Bill was very heartbreaking, but it was undercut by the show basically confirming his pointlessness. That said, i'm not sure I would've liked a larger role after leaving the hospital.

I'm sort of there too. I feel like maybe if I hadn't read the book it wouldn't bother me, but at the same time some of the choices (especially surrounding Bill) are kind of on their face dumb choices. I knew from the reviews that apparently the ending was altered, but it sounded more subtle than a fairly big rewrite.

I'm wondering if there's an increased level of piracy that's affecting digital book sales. Especially being that ebooks are often absurdly priced and barely cheaper than their physical counterpart..

to be fair, it is pretty big among indie circles. But yeah it'll never reach vinyl levels (whose popularity is vastly overstated). Its revival seems solely rooted in "Well, why not tapes too?" in response to vinyl's comeback and just seems way too contrarian to really take off.

I've seen a fairly big appreciation for CDs fairly recently. I think Rolling Stone even had an article on it.

Time Baby III is not at all like their normal sound. I'll definitely take II instead.

they've released 2 albums since reforming!

if I had a complaint, it's similar to the one I had for the pilot where sometimes Jake's motivations aren't entirely clear. It's explained better in the book, though there's a clear divergence from the book in this episode. I get that jake is not a seasoned veteran in all this, but there's some bits of carelessness in

Animal Collective wisely reins in the indulgences on Painting With

pretty much what I was going for. Lots of reused designs, characters, etc. makes it feel like leftovers. While the dungeons are great, I felt like a majority of the game was spent doing sidequests, which just further highlighted the Outtakes aspect.

I could agree that later games did certain aspects better, but on balance I think Ocarina does everything well about equally.

I agree that the show didn't really explain Jake's motivations, though I think the book may've given a bit more insight. I'm also pretty sure they touched upon preventing 9/11 and basically argued that it was much more difficult to pull off (killing one guy vs. either killing a bunch of guys without being noticed or

and a wasted opportunity to learn by trial & error

Revival's ending definitely felt like it was written first and the rest of the book was written to give that story context. To King's credit, it works much better than it should've.

in a broad sense I agree, but:

While i think the Ripley's daughter adds some more depth to her relationship with Newt, I feel that that subplot works well enough even without that added detail. While it's a brief scene, I think an argument could be made that Ripley discovering her daughter has died from old age(?) is basically just piling onto

Jody definitely overstayed his purpose, but I liked him otherwise. You can't hate this (semi-NSFW)

Frank's pretty awful, but Karen was about as aggravating as the show ever got.

Andy was always a really weak character. Sometimes it was inoffensive, but often it was really obvious the writers had no idea what to do with him.Erin & Andy was forced as fuck, but made even worse when they would break them up so they could get them back together. Who really gave a shit about that relationship?
