I just traded in a 2014 Subaru Outback that I had for just over a year and 23k miles. I had to add a quart of oil about every 1,000-1,500 miles, and the dealership was insistent that it’s simply the “way it’s designed” and that “Porsche boxer engines do the same thing.”

I bought one last year and, while not the best stick in the world, it does a hell of a good job making an anemic engine palatable.

I bought a 2014 model specifically because I knew it would be the last year they offered the 6MT in the US. I regret nothing!

This comment is the equivalent of a perfect game combined with a quadruple double. Hall of Fame worthy.
