Cue the “big M8” jokes, because this thing is absolutely massive; those 20” wheels look tiny. But, I do like that it’s a hatch back and that it has a comfortable back seat, and I guess those are partially responsible for the size.

“I’ve never owned a Mercedes or a Rolls-Royce, but it beats the interior of every other car I’ve owned…”
I was under the impression that Tesla is “not a car company”. Wonder where I got that idea from.
Someone has to pay for the remote driver located overseas so that “FSD” will work, and it’s not going to be Tesla. That cost will be passed on to owners.
Tesla interior materials and the word “upscale” don’t even belong in the same sentence. But I’m not at all surprised you would rush to defend the brand. You’re talking about a brand that removed buttons and indicator stalks to save pennies. Oh, but it’s got a glass roof (with no cover).
“People don’t want small cars”, says company who doesn’t offer any small cars to buyers. Oh look, the Maverick is selling like hotcakes, why not increase production capacity?
I went back and forth quite a bit about buying a Mini SE; it was a fun little car, but ultimately I decided not to. It was not going to replace any of our current vehicles and would have been used only as a daily commuter. I may still pick up a used one at some point, but I’ve run out of garage space, and I don’t…
I’ve been having issues with uploading content to Jalopnik for weeks now. Not sure what they changed on their end.
There have been several less expensive options on the market already that offer 100 miles of range. Practically nobody bought them.
If I were a betting man, I’d say the Model Q will probably just be a de-contented Model 3 with cheaper interior materials, less powerful motors and a smaller battery.
$68k to have a bright red TOYOTA badge in your face the whole time. Who thought that was a good design choice? I bet Toyota will offer an accessory package to black out the red letters.
Surveys can be biased, if the people doing the survey don’t mitigate and account for their bias. A well designed research survey takes precautions to eliminate bias and check validity of responses. But yeah...McKinsey? Probably not a well developed survey.
Agreed. Buying an EV today, likely means a bigger investment than just the car itself. Many folks have had to make additional investments to update their home electrical systems or add home charging capabilities. I think for many people their EV might also not be their only car; so they might not plan to replace their…
^This!
A remote operated taxi? No thank you.
Bingo!
Realistically the people buying a GTD already have a Roma (or equivalent) in their garage.
And tires. Tires are a really big thing for lap times! Put that Viper ACR on modern rubber and I suspect it would shave off at least another second if not more.
About 3950 lbs apparently.
Absolutely the Moza SP1 and SP2 have the speedster game on lock down.
