Apple didn’t “fail”, they decided it wasn’t a market they wanted to try and compete in. In fact, it appears that some of the innovation we are seeing in the Chinese EV industry may be thanks to Apple:

Jim Farley praising the car his company is lobbying our government hard as hell to prevent U.S. consumers from buying.

Stock is up over 20% right now…

Stock is up over 20% as of right now. Crazy how much hype this company trades on.

Oh, I absolutely agree with you that “FSD” as currently configured isn’t going to work on HW4 either (or ever really). But Musk and Tesla aren’t going to come out and say that, they’re going to milk that stock pump for as long as possible. Robotaxi is really just a continuation of this same pump, as it relies entirely

Elon back to projecting 20-30% growth, promising millions of new cars that don’t exist yet to be on the road soon, and claiming “FSD” is just around the corner.

Actually I don’t thinks that’s the target anymore. The 911 might have been the target for the previous generation AMG GT; but I think the new one is aimed more at Aston Martin and Bentley. MB made it less of an outright sports car and more of a grand tourer. The new GT is really an SL coupe, they just aren’t branding

I agree that the previous generation AMG GT was the better looking car (especially before they made it all puffy hamster cheeks for the R versions). It also seems like the new one is more of a GT car oriented towards comfort, whereas the previous one was really aimed at being a dynamic sports car. I guess MB concluded

Especially with the significant depreciation we are seeing on these luxury and premium EVs, it makes a lot more sense to shop in the used or CPO market.

Volvo did that for a while with the V60 and V90, where you could get one if you ordered it. Would be nice to see more companies offer that option; but I suspect that won’t be happening.

Sounds… inoffensive; which is pretty much par for the course with Audi these days. A good interior, a not so outlandish exterior, and a competent driving experience but not the sharpest.

Agreed. I said the same about the CLE review. I’m not entirely convinced that adding all this extra weight for the fancy tech actually makes the car better to drive than just optimizing the car around less weight by foregoing that stuff.

Light bars are NOT illegal, they just need to be covered when on public roads.

The number I’ve seen is 1,929 kg (4,253 lbs).

I know that’s what many of them end up buying, but do they really “want” a truck?

This almost makes you wonder if they should have just made a towing version of the truck that doesn’t have any bed space and just extra batteries instead; rather than fiddling with this “removable” battery pack that is very unlikely to ever be removed once installed.

Musk literally said that he would be going to jail if Kamala is elected…

With the current popularity of the AMG 4 cylinder hybrid (or rather the lack thereof), what are the chances that the SL facelift gets the I6?

Agreed. I sometimes wonder if these cars would actually be better off without the added weight of the AWD and rear wheel steering systems. I understand applying those technologies in the S class and such, but for a coupe?

Agreed, if you’re going to make a speedster, then you really have to lean into that all the way. This just looks tacky and weird. They understood the mission with the SLR Sterling Moss.
