The Av Club comments sections is the PC Frat.

I seem to recall that both the book and the movie version of "The Road" did
hint toward a nuclear event, without coming straight out and saying so. In both the book and film, when "the event" first occurs, The Man reacts very quickly to the initial event—springing out of bed and into action to begin filling his bath

It certainly could be sexism for all I know. I'm just putting out an alternative explanation that doesn't condemn the people committing the unwanted behavior.

[EDIT to delete earlier unkind response.]

No, my argument is saying nothing categorically about men or women. You're reading that into my comment, and projecting your own sexism or insecurities onto my writing.

I will, thank you.

In reviewing your profile, I see that you have placed nearly 35,000 comments online through your Disqus account alone.

I think you mean explain.

…As you've so deftly demonstrated.

Ooookay. I'm left to assume that you either don't have much real world experience, or that the real-world experience that you do have has been categorically awful. If it's the latter, you have my sympathies. If it's the former, I hope you can eventually come to realize through experience that—other than in random

I think you mean systemic. Even given the premise that systemic sexism does exist, it doesn't mean that the motivation for every negative occurrence can be reduced to gender bias.

Was he white? If so, don't feel ashamed. It's impossible to commit a thought crime against a white male.

Well, it's at least as likely as the possibility that the treatment is due purely to her gender.

I don't know your friend, but maybe she is difficult to work with, and her spouse happens to be the cooler-headed/more-reasonable half of the partnership. It isn't unheard of for creative-types to be a bit flighty or temperamental.

Jimmy, I think you are the first person in this thread to display critical reading comprehension skills.

Call me crazy, but I always assumed Michael Buble dropped his pants for dudes all the time. I'm just as shocked as anyone.

Don't take it personally. Anyone with a contrary opinion in the comment section of AV Club is automatically presumed to be a white male born into a life of wealth and privilege.

Ironically, I only complain about complainers. In general, I'm a pretty easy-going guy. But such is life for those of us who are white, male, and born into privilege.

No, please don't turn your rapier wit in my direction. I may make a spelling or punctuation mistake, and the cruel barb you would no doubt hurl in response would shatter my fragile ego.

Are you implying that she doesn't like colored people?
