I guess you're right. I'm sure most of their readers don't care. I personally just think comedy is more enjoyable when it pokes fun at everyone.

Agreed. It's really a turn off. I used to read this website at least daily. Now I only check in once or twice a week at most—usually just to confirm that it's still heavily biased. The same thing happened at The Onion—used to be fairly balanced, but hasn't been that way for a long time.

The individuals on the "terrorist watch list" haven't been formally accused of any crime, much less convicted. There's also no way to know if you're on the list, and no formal due process procedure to get off the list if you're somehow on it. That, to me, seems like an unacceptable basis for denying a person of

I'm an NRA member. I don't see how an organization that advocates for 2nd Amendment Rights and safe gun ownership could objectively be considered evil. The right to self protection and protection of home and loved ones is pretty fundamental. At least as fundamental as anything else in the Bill of Rights.

Good answer.

If this is what it takes for democrats to finally get on board with gun rights, I'm good with that.

Holy shit, does everything need to be made political, AV Club? It's a story about a poorly-made couch.

No disrespect, but maybe we should drop it. I dont think we're getting through to each other.

Yes, they are an abhorrent organization full of terrible people. That isn't the point. Every political group endorses someone, and who that endorsement goes to is rarely ever a surprise.

It's like you've known me all my life.

I don't know what else you expected. They were going to endorse someone. That's kind of what political groups do, right?

Who did you expect them to endorse? Jill Stein?

Just checking: are you actually making an argument that Trump enjoys more favorable treatment by the media than does Clinton?

A celebrity just endorsed Hillary Clinton? Never thought I'd live to see the day.

Hey man, thanks for the question. I sincerely do appreciate the chance to have civil discourse about 2nd Amendment liberties ("guns" for short), since it's an issue I really care about and feel qualified to discuss. Though disqus is probably not the best forum for it.

Do you really think that the incidents of police shooting are on the rise, or are the incidents just better documented and reported than in prior years?

The government killed a few hundred white men women and children in Waco Texas about 20 years ago, and they weren't even on government property.

I think we all know that Hillary is about as opposed to the pipeline as Obama is. Which is to say, not very.

While I agree that race relations in the US are at their worst point in about 50 years, I'll also argue that the main stream national sentiment (news media, popular culture, social media, etc) is probably more sympathetic and supportive of minority causes than at any point in history.

Good question. I know that many people here in Iowa oppose the pipeline on the basis that they dislike the real environmental impact of the trenching and tiling, or the potential environmental impact of a future leak. Others are against the use of eminent domain by the government for a non-public project.
