I'm more of a one-time poverty lawyer (PD) pretty well committed to solutions for those communities - and really concerned that English majors who only see the world in terms of televison shows are undoing a great deal of progress.

As I have said, there is a school of thought - mainly from those who guffawed at the notion of a solution - who will look for other explanations, ANY other explanations, rather than the obvious one

So the limousine liberal decides that guys who work together, spend hours together every day in pretty intimate circumstances, have to watch each other's back in tight situations, somehow don't influence each other . . . . God, those preconceptions of yours won't quit, will they?

Like so many others, you define the inquire into non-existence. The Grand Jury decided the Garner cop WASN'T liable (and it certainly wsn't for an intentional killing in any case). I disagree, but that's the way it came down.

That was 2010, five yers ago, so I am doing a linear projection when I say the force is now less than 50% Caucasian. Rank is a matter of simple seniority. As the older guys retire, those proportiions, too, will rise.
