Both the NYC Transit Police [white/blue Caprice] and the NYC Housing Authority Police [dark blue/orange Gran Fury] were merged with the NYPD in 1995.

1973 Plymouth Fury, also the year that the NYPD changed to its light blue color scheme to give the force a friendlier appearance. Take note of the distinctive Signal Stat two-domed lightbar with can lights and a speaker in the middle; they're near impossible to find nowadays.

1965/1966 Plymouth Fury. Note the Federal Signal Beacon Ray 175-H light and Federal Signal 660 "pulsator" siren on top. Together they make one noticeable combo!

This is the one reason that I'll be attending the Auto Show this year; the NYC Police Museum's presence is fantastic. All of the classic cars, and the older green/black/white and light blue/white liveries are great, and that's not including their Signal Stat and Federal Beacon Ray lighting.

You can't beat Japan's Crown Vic. :D

Production ended in late 2011/early 2012. I know the last Crown Victoria rolled off of the line on September 15th, 2011, but I'm not sure about the exact date for the Town Car. It may have been ancient, but why significantly update what was ridiculously reliable, able to take years upon years and hundreds of

It is a travesty that they don't.

Though I'd rather have it in RWD with bench seats and a column-mounted gearshift if we're going for 60s/70s/80s landyacht.

I wish they still marketed them in the US as a barebones, cheap-as-hell entry level commuter. I imagine that the thousands of regulations on items like backup-cameras and electronic stability control make that impossible though.

Good to know. I suppose if I read through the massive amount of GIMP tutorials out there I might have a chance at improving.

I can't begin to describe how much better that looks.

Bravo! Just goes to show how much a bit of experience/knowledge can add to conceptual renders.

I posted it below, but here's what I came up with. Should've added a rambar and steel-wheels, but I digress.

I tried my hand at photoshopping a police-styled render. Though I have little skill and had to use GIMP, I think it turned out alright. I should've thrown some steel wheels and a push-bar on it in hindsight. I can say that I'm excited to see all of the liveries that will be added by departments that purchase these

At least the Michigan State Police version will surely look interesting!

You'd think that with 1990s Hondas always being at the top of the Most Stolen lists she would've had some more precautionary measures.

These Hondas only had about ten to fifteen key variations if what I've read is correct. That's why they're always on the top of the Most Stolen lists.

The Craigslist post isn't written in all caps/broken English and isn't blatantly misleading, I call bullshit.

This gen of Charger is my favorite of the 4-door/recent versions. It just looks brutish and commands respect.

For those that are interested, the NYC Police Museum will have an exhibit at this year's auto show. It certainly looks awesome.
