Though the police did show up after the fight started so the writers didn’t completely ignore the fact that National City has a police force.  Does Central City even have a police force anymore?  They never seem to show up.

In the comic books when Kara puts on her glasses her hair turns brown and when she takes them off her hair is blonde. Melissa’s hair did look a little more brown when tied back the first couple seasons but now it is a lot blonder.
