I agree with that too. All of them, I’d say, evolve over time. No way around that. In the US, moreso though, I feel we don’t have much of a clue at all as to the origins of a lot that we enjoy today, especially holidays. In that, a lot of times we’ve made them into our own out of ignorance I’d say.

You’re right here, but also forgot the word “Culture” at the end of that phrase... which makes it EVEN WORSE lol. I can guarantee white people are not the best at building a culture, but they are good at taking elements of other cultures and adding it into their own.

I think coming back with that statement would have been far more effective than an actual attack! That or, “Awww, the first step to beating this is admitting the problem, we’re proud of you.”
