So how has extreme left vs. extreme right worked out, eh?

And that is the problem.

You misunderstand me. They are afraid that departments might start enforcing consequence of their bad policing.

It is a microcosm of white America right now. Rather than admit the problem and fixing it they are reacting with fear. In this case, fear of accountability.

This falls in with bigoted thinking because they clearly hate brown people more than they love their country.

It is sad when people become so polarized that if you are not embracing the extreme and instead are moderates (who actually get things done as compared to extremists) then they get labeled as being in the other party.

Doesn’t Orange Rage sound like a Mountain Dew energy drink flavor?

Get rid of police unions.   They will protect their members even when their members clearly do wrong.

The cry really should be “rebuild the police” and not “defund the police”.

I think there is a chicken/egg problem with police defunding.

It happens. Even at a young age I was disgusted by overt racism. But we grow up in this little white bubble. We’re in our own separate parallel world much of the time. And while I can empathize as an outsider, until I stepped out of that bubble and saw with my own eyes I was well meaning but clueless.

The “reason” people bring it up is to attempt to dismiss a very real problem and that is unfair treatment by the law. By bringing up black on black crime (which would not be as bad if black people had the same opportunities as white people) the invoker is basically saying “Well, let’s not worry about that problem,

Yeah, clear difference. It was white men that put Trump in office.

My advice with The Root, if you are white, is to do more reading than commenting.

So you ask yourself why and you have the valid answer.

Well, I put all of those in “b.”.

This really illustrates one of the actual problems of why Trump was elected.
