Did you read my comment? I’m not judging people for having children, or telling them they shouldn’t. I said that people have always wanted them and always will regardless of what’s going on in the world, and acknowledging that my not wanting children makes me the outlier. My comment was in response to someone who

I don’t get it either. But I also just accept that wanting/having kids isn’t rational, for the most part. And I’m not saying that to judge parents, just accepting that it’s human nature to want kids and that’s that. I don’t want kids, never have. But I’m also aware that I’m very much the outlier, and that most people

Took money from in exchange for providing them a clean and affordable place to live? And no, it’s not 50% of anyone’s paycheck, because my mother is in a country where rent isn’t unaffordable the way it is in major US or European cities, it’s recommended rents don’t surpass 30% of people’s pay. Many of her tenants

LOL wut?

Yeah, I know. Former poli sci major here. My point is, good luck judging the world based on a model no Western democratic society will ever adopt willingly, and expecting people to take you seriously. And I say that as someone who grew up in Europe and loves social-democracy. Just not full blown Communism and the

I never said the current system is fair (been a renter in New York and now DC so yeah I know about unfairly high rents) but that doesn’t mean the right not solution is housing co-ops, or Marxism and eliminating private property. I don’t have a problem with private property and landlords, I just think we need stricter

Yes, but the world isn’t Marxist and you can’t use that as the benchmark with which to judge all of society. That’s extremely totalitarian of you.

How do you determine what’s ethical?

This is getting fucking ridiculous. Yes, rents need to be controlled so people can’t hike the every year and make cities unlivable, but there is nothing inherently immoral about owning properties and renting them out at a fair price. I’m dizzy from the amount of times I rolled my eyes reading this idiocy.

They don’t. Not typically.

Yes but he works for them. He could at the very least acknowledge that Jezebel was a part of the problem from the beginning and not only believed Kanye and his Rubbermaid but have been total assholes about everything she’s ever done.

Honestly, this is a baffling move... not her dropping out, but her endorsing Biden over her Sanders-stanning from 2016 (and earlier this cycle).

call us “murderers” or “voting for people to die” or “having no compassion for the poor” for not voting for Bernie.

Yeah, I think if you were expecting any kind of self-reflection on the part of anyone at Jezebel and/or Bernie stans, bonne chance...

While there will be some people who pout and stay home because Bernie didn’t get the nomination, I think the bigger issue is people under 40 vote way less than those over 40 generally speaking, and most of Bernie’s supporters are younger.

None of what you’re saying changes the fact that young people just don’t vote at the same rate as over 45s.

What are you saying? That young base didn’t even go out and vote for Bernie during the primaries.

Thanks for the info. Turns out, lots of diseases are named after Japanese cities.

Hippies, man.

our city had a disease named after it!
