It was sad to think the best possible scenario for 2016 was four more years of complete gridlock, but I wish that was the forecast now.

I agree. He gets his guy in as governor and moves her to a position (U.N. ambassador) that Republicans traditionally don’t give a shit about.

On a semi related note: I guess he just tapped Betsy DeVos to head the Dept of Education. Expect to see a shitload of money to be diverted away from public schools to charter schools.

Either way, a lot of vets I know are embodiments of the Republican ideal of climbing the ladder then pulling it up after them. (Especially the ones that you out pre-9/11 so they basically had an entire career without serving in any conflict at all)

Who knew that a candidate caught in countless lies during the campaign would go back on his promises?

One of the most conservative people I have ever known (who was also career military) would freely and happily admit the military was the world’s largest welfare program.

Unfortunately, Republicans have proven over the past sixteen years that they like fighting wars, but aren’t terribly interested in supporting the people that fight for them.

Maybe some people think they can do some good in spite of him?
