That’s what I was getting from as well, but every time I tried to clarify, she just starting tossing insults at me, so I gave up.

I am ASKING YOU to explain what you mean and you’re saying I “show no willingness to actually figure it out.” Ok.

Whoa there. You’re making a giant leap there between a social media “joke” and your over-sharing coworker.

Then I’m confused as to why you are using terms like “privileged,” “luxury item” and “material means” in all of your posts.

“Desperately” wanting children does not equate to people actually being able to afford fertility treatments (or adoption), though. People who do not have the financial means to do so are still allowed to grieve the children they aren’t able to have, and the ones they’ve lost.

Solidarity from WI, where we got similarly screwed by Scott Walker in 2011.

How are people who can’t have children “relatively privileged”?

Uh no, it said I had experienced infertility AND pregnancy loss. Meaning I have in fact been pregnant. Back to you, genius.

Those people clearly don’t have a clue how painful it all is. Or they’re just awful people. Probably both.

I stand by my original comment. If you are going to post things that you know full well are going to cause people pain, you’re just a shitty person.

Clearly you have a problem with reading comprehension. I HAVE gotten pregnant. Twice. Unfortunately only one of those babies survived. And I am not at all resentful, I am clearly just a nicer person than you are.

Serious question that’s totally unrelated: how does she go to the bathroom in that outfit? I can see where the sleek lines would be ideal for getting in fights, but what happens when ya gotta pee?

Seriously. Having been though both pregnancy loss and infertility, it’s hard enough to paste on a fake smile and pretend you’re not dying inside with the real pregnancy announcements, let alone the assholes who think pregnancy is one huge joke. And the people who say “lighten up” can fuck off. Even if it doesn’t

It seriously looks like when someone tries to re-create a professional photo they saw on Pinterest, using their iphone camera. Fail.

I tried to order this for my daughter this week and it’s so popular, it’s out of stock. There are still plenty of copies of the original Pence book, though :)

And tissues. Lots and lots of tissues. And hand sanitizer.

I don’t say it when discussing that book with my HS students. It’s not that I’m not allowed to, it’s that I just can’t bring myself to say it. The thought makes me very on edge/anxious/uncomfortable. And there’s really no reason to say it- the kids can read it, they know what it is, we don’t need to all shout it out

We went through a similar thing in WI in 2011- now we have no unions anymore and are contributing more to our retirement funds (effectively a pay cut) to cover the deficit caused by the state. And in the years since then, both schools and the teaching profession have suffered. Good teachers left the profession and

Oh yes, there is always one or maaayybee two who are on the board because they actually care about a high quality education (which includes ALL students), and they pretty much get steamrolled over by the obnoxious gas bags who don’t care about anything but their own wallets.

I second the Lands End recommendation. I already responded similarly to a post above about this, but I’ve been really happy with my tankini from there. I have a long torso as well, so one-pieces don’t work well on me, and I needed a looser fitting top to hide the post-baby belly. They were the only place I found
