Yup. I got the flu once in middle school (flu shots weren’t a thing back then). Since the flu shot has become common, I’ve gotten it every year and while I’ve gotten plenty of bad colds, I’ve managed to avoid the flu.

Plus the vaccine is different depending on your location because they are trying to predict which strains will affect different areas. So you may have gotten the flu shot for your area, but if you travel you run the risk of being exposed to a strain common somewhere else.
