As a resident of the South, I don’t want to write off the Deep South either, but at the same time, Hyde-Smith was an unusually bad candidate even by Mississippi Republican standards.

They definitely should not be written off as they are tied with for first place when it comes to number of Senators.

Oh, wow, do I really have to school you about randomness. Picking random numbers will, often times, result in some numbers being chosen more while others might not be chosen at all. This is also why, when you play a random playlist on your music player, certain songs seem to play ‘all the time’ and others not so much.

It’s one thing to think they are out to get you. It’s another to know they are out to get you.

White liberal Mississippian chiming in here... I assure you that her “sorry/not sorry” followup to her comments shows exactly whom she was signaling and what she meant. You may have to have lived in this part of the country to understand the code language, but it’s very obvious.
