(Sharing this because I’m a firm believer in being open about these things in case it helps someone else who may be experiencing similar see that they are not alone. Especially since it still feels shameful, even though I get that it’s an organic brain disorder & not my choice/fault - sorry it’s on the long side!)
I’ve been spending way less time on Facebook and reading news in general, and find myself way happier as a result.
UCSD actually has a grant to help provide in-home services for people with hoarding problems, as well as hoarding-specific counseling. I believe it’s part of their OCD clinic (the two are closely related)
