Yeah, I think there are a lot of valid arguments to be made for both sides, but “other OTC meds can kill you too” does not strike me as one of them.

I preface this by saying I don’t disagree with you as far as pharmacist’s competencies go, and I’m not arguing that MDs are “better”.

I understand the concept of an Alford plea and don’t disagree with what you’re saying.

I’m a big fan of Project Innocence and have also seen firsthand the way the justice system encourages guilty pleas for reduced sentences, but pleading guilty and admitting guilt are two separate things IMHO.

I get all that, but I don’t understand how giving an ultimatum changes anything - it strikes me as putting unfair pressure on one’s partner, instead of just communicating with each other about what your intentions & long-term goals are.

But you can just as easily say you’re a fiancé in those situations - the possibility of encountering situations like those (IMHO) are not a reason to push for a lifelong commitment or force someone’s hand.

We don’t pay for her disability income. SSDI just means you qualify for your social security benefits early - your benefit amount is based on how many years you’ve worked and how much you’ve paid into the system (salary/witholdings)
