Particularly Tasmania, the “Deep South” of Australia.

Has anyone else come across what I think might be a new racist dog whistle? It’s a flag with a vertical green stripe on the left and horizontal stripes of orange, white, and blue. I could not figure out what the hell it was, but after some research I’m wondering if it’s a combo of the Rhodesian and apartheid South

Yeah, I was wondering if she seemed confused to the caller and they wanted a wellness check. Even with the 911 calling assholes all over the news, many people still wouldn’t anticipate that a police officer would attack a little 87 year old grandmother. If she’s not safe from police brutality, truly no one is.

You’d have to actually know something about Aretha and Patti’s frenemy relationship for it to work as a joke, though. Do Fox News interns secretly stan for Patti?

It’s especially bizarre because Elliott Whitaker has two supportive parents and a ton of medical documentation to back up the gender dysphoria diagnosis. The only person unhappy with Elliott’s decision is the judge.

Police departments will actively fire any of the good cops.

Re: movie theater comment - are you a fellow West Philadelphian, or is this just happening everywhere now? (The latter would not surprise me.)

Ok, I don’t know what’s actually in Harry’s head but both of the views Markle assigned to him contradict other things he’s said publically. And it will be difficult for Harry to come out with a statement in opposition to this cagey insinuation - something the interviewer knew well.

I don’t know much about their views on surrogacy, but some fundamentalists are strongly anti-adoption. Because the only reason they can imagine for a child to be put up for adoption is drug addiction or out-of-wedlock sex, and they believe in “bad blood” and “the sins of the father will be visited on the children.”

I think perhaps it’s because you’re coming across as antagonistic and unnecessarily rude.

I’d be so sad to hear anything about Seth Meyers, exactly because I think it so unlikely. If the late night host who has the best (work/friend) relationships with his female staffers could do that, anyone could.

The costume question is one I spent some time debating this year. I really wanted to be Claudia Kishi for a kids’ book character costume party - funky jewelry and art supplies and candy bars and all - but I’m blonde and I thought a long black wig (in side pony) would be necessary to be at all recognizable. Just the

Dylan is his sister (who accused Woody Allen of rape). This is about Ronan Farrow.

This whole story upsets me, bc he’s married to Amber Tamblyn and she deserves only good things in her life, like not being married to an asshole.

You can really tell in his own scripted stuff too. His excellent piece on systemic sexism was definitely written by/with all the women in his staff.

Amber’s amazing! I love how much of a platform Seth’s been giving her. It lets her develop a public persona and maybe, just maybe, be in a good spot to launch her own show soon.

I have to say, this is a major reason why I grew to like Seth Meyers. He features his own talented writers on screen and he seems genuinely interested in most of his guests - not just waiting for them to give him an excuse to talk.
