Is it wrong that I fully expect my best friend who happens to be gay to be as supportive of and vocal about my rights as a female as I have been for his rights as a gay person? He and I have discussed it and he even agrees-how could he NOT stand with me when I continue to stand with him?

The same body parts? That is your argument? Yes, a hysterectomy is also a big change, involves down time, adjustment, etc. And, just like MOST vacation leave policies in America, you can use your vacation time for a hysterectomy and for having a child. Most companies don't actually pay maternity leave. The FMLA

Yup, it is a choice. One that ensures there will be another generation in this world and country to be productive and take care of you when you're older.

Maternity leave is not the same thing as a vacation. It is not a "perk" so to speak, rather a time to recover from a major physical ordeal. I didn't really get what that meant until I had a child (which I swear I'm not saying in a 'look at me, i'm so special' way because really, i don't think having a child is that

Seriously. I don't want children either but you can be damn sure I support paid maternity (and paternity) leave.

As a gay man who would love 6 weeks of paid maternity equivalent leave every year for absolutely no reason, I still think this is a stupid comment. Not everything in life needs to be completely equal and fuck you for begrudging people the time they need to recover from a medical situation.

You're right, giving birth is the same as taking a fucking vacation to Hawaii OHMYGOD I don't even want kids and you annoy me.

No, blow it out your ass because that is clearly NOT what she was saying. Just how you decided to interpret it. The fact is, women have been seen as less than men since virtually the dawn of time and our contribution to society considered nothing. Even if that contribition was "just" giving birth and raising

In this instance, you and the point are like 2 ships passing in the night.

That's actually not what I got from it at all, but sure, if you need to find fault with a powerful plea for equality, don't let me stop you.

I'm sorry, but, as a woman who has chosen to be child free I have only this to say to you, "Go blow it out your ass. This isn't about you. Don't make it about you."

Do not drunk shame this truth speaker! EQUAL PAY FOR WOMEN!

PRETTY SURE SHE JUST WON THE OSCARS

Real story is her badass acceptance speach. I let out a resounding "Yes" in my living room when she talked about equal pay for equal work.

She SLAYED her acceptance speech. YAS!

She literally just killed her speech... Goosebumps.

She seems like a fun lady with no fucks to give. TEAM PATRICIA!

Well, it seems to me there is also the issue of age and perception about the world at play here. An apocalyptic cult like ISIL may have the same sort of appeal to certain teen people that Gothic imagery and general nihilism does to others. Also, this group has a rather amazing PR and media section to sell their vile

I think that was really powerful and really sad. When Annalise's mom made that statement that men take things and there's no reason to talk about it, it seemed like she was excusing their behavior. Like a "boys will be boys" kind of thing. And it's easy to see why that would hurt Annalise so bad and cause her so much
