I immediately thought of this. A background episode dealing with “Martyr’s Gate” would be my guess.
The Americans had comedy too! It was pretty funny how people didn’t recognize Philip or Elizabeth just because they were wearing a wig and/or glasses.
I’d say she’s a racist, but she doesn’t think of herself as one, natch. She comes across as more paternalistic, condescending. She adopted Leah to raise her as white, and thinks that all Natives should act white, and that, as a white person, she has to baby them, save them from themselves.
OK, I’m not disagreeing that Jodie’s attractive, but I wouldn’t use the fixations of a nutbar - even if the president he tried to kill was Reagan - as proof of that.
The first step toward solving your problem is to admit that you have one. Thank you for being brave and sharing with us that you do not find an objectively* attractive woman to be attractive. Now you can begin to heal.
*: Once someone attempts to kill a president in a person’s honor, that person’s attractiveness is no…
I agree and I don’t think The Color Purple is any different, really. It’s 100% a classic among Black Americans that has a pretty strong fandom (meaning the original movie). Certainly there aren’t a lot of inside “jokes” per se, but there are specific moments that carry throughout Black culture (“all my life I had to…
It is that though. It’s true that alcohol sales overall are down amongst Gen Z vs those who came before them. I’m not saying that it’s good or bad, it just is.
And Motherland: Fort Salem, which I’m very sad about (and can’t even be purchased on Amazon Prime or Apple)
Rainbow capitalism is hollow and cynical.
But you see those were two different things: Gal was trying to do something nice and people shit all over her for it and I think it was Ellen who was saying about it equalizing things. Nobody said that in the Imagine video.
FWIW, I don’t think the post sounds pro AI. That said, some of what you mention as its usefulness I see as the consequence of a shitty writer. There are craft solutions to writers block, generally involving a solid outline created well in advance. A screenwriter who can’t generate an idea shouldn’t be doing it at all.…
The last I knew of the ask was that no AI could be credited. So a registered writer would have to be credited with a script *even if* it was 100% generated by AI. Which is not actually possible, but the point stands. The WGA wants human writers to get paid.
I must also stress that terms like white and black really wouldn't mean much in Cleopatras time. Not saying discrimination wasn't a thing but this line in the sand of what is or isn't "white" is a lot more recent way of thinking. I mean Italians weren't considered white until the 20th century for godsake.
“Amir in his bedroom in Cairo wrote to me to earnestly appeal that ‘Cleopatra was Greek!’ Oh, Lawd! Why would that be a good thing to you, Amir? You’re Egyptian.”
I typically do not post in controversial topics over there. What’s funny about this article, which is also mentioning Yulia Tymoshenko, which is already a huge stretch. It’s a common hair-style, firstly. But back to my point, many so called ‘leftists’ and ‘rightists’ that constantly shout Ukraine slogans have little…
Lol go fuck yourself, Russophobe.
I dunno, both Vietnam and Iraq were pretty bad. I say this as someone who is very glad the USA is supporting Ukraine.
This will probably come across as hardcore “whataboutism”, so with that out of the way:
The only reason Pajitnov got the rights to Tetris back is because Rogers helped him. You can’t really tell the story of Tetris without it being about both guys. They still own Tetris together today.
