Hi Kotaku Melodic guy. Love the articles. Would really love an article about how many movies / tv shows are using music that bears a striking resemblance to game music.

Ashe is kind of like drow / priestess. She has the cold arrow, a vision skill (sort of like the hawk summoned by beastmaster, but it doesn't last as long) a dps cone skill, and her ult is basically mystic arrow that doesn't get consumed by enemy creeps.

Me too! Though once you get up higher elos people really start to rage when you lose. Happens in all 3 big mobas, DotA2, LoL and HoN...

It's too bad DotA is so RNG based. If there's one thing LoL has done it has removed RNG from the leading factors of why a team loses.

Putting a value on video games is really hard. sometimes I feel like the experience is a steal, regardless of length. A good example is Journey. Yeah it may have only been what, 4 hours, but just experiencing the game was well worth the cost of admission.

They made a purposeful design decision to ensure that you couldn't avoid damage by simply running in and out of melee range. Bashiok made a post about it during beta when everyone was complaining about the hit boxes.

It's hard to explain. There's nothing "special" about it, but it's a much different experience. You are segregated from the normal game community, and the economy is very different.

It's not balanced for anyone at high levels. Melee just get the ultra shaft because they have to be up close.

All your hard work doesn't go down the tubes. It's just a different way of playing. If you die, you lose everything and the levels of that character, but you still have everything that character farmed up.

Now playing

Psh that's nothing. I was a long time HC D2 player. D2 was much more forgiving, obviously, but it was also much more predictable and less buggy. Honestly losing your high level character did suck, but it isn't soul crushing like people expect.

Sony is missing a huge opportunity to move Vita units. By releasing hd re-released that are playable on both, and giving you both formats when you buy it, they could convert ps3 game sales into Vita sales...

I'm sure Microsoft will have a great showing at Adscon and Tokyo Ad Show.

Obligatory.

That's a joke, right?

Goes just as hand in hand as any TV show or movie, really.

So true. Character driven narrative. Something games have a hard time doing.

So true. BSG walked off the cliff of absurdity, but I was happy to walk with it. Much like I'm happy to go with a a quality JRPG... there just hasn't been one in a long time, I don't think. (And don't use resonance of fate as an example!!!)

What I get from this article: Too many free games are doing too many cool things and have really bad names.

I totally agree. The people promoting the game are trying way too hard, and flailing wildly while doing so.

You're assuming FAR FAR FAR too much to come to the conclusion that this is just a revenge flick scenario game.
