THIS. I was a tot then but remember everybody waking up in the dark and hating it. I get so tired of this proposal every year. It’s like a Trump presidency or meal at Olive Garden—you’ve got to live through it to realize how truly unsatisfying it is.

Dark mornings are going to continue to happen regardless of any change. If it’s permanent standard time that means the winter mornings stay the same. If it’s permanent Daylight time then the sun comes up even later.

Be careful... this is just a ploy to get people to side with them on something and crack open that door.

As always mentioned during this discussion, this also means millions of kids walking/biking/scootering to school in pitch-blackness from late Nov to early Feb. Fewer car accidents > dead kids? Not in my mind.

That’s called changing time zones, which is stupid. Standard time is the correct time, Daylight time the modified time. The only way this works if is it’s permanent standard time.

Why?  It was tried in 1974 and didn’t even last a year before people demanded to go back to switching the clocks.

Permanent standard time means the sun rises an hour before most people wake up in the summer.

Of course Leon wants to try something that was already tried in the 70s and everyone absolutely hated it to the point the two year experiment barely lasted a year, cause he’s too fucking stupid to learn from past mistakes.
