Hmmm. This article misses a lot of what makes The Boys worth watching. The writer claims the show has nothing to say yet the entire show is a massive takedown of celebrity culture and celebrity worship. These ‘heroes’ are mouthpieces and puppets for branded images, they have no agency, are stopped from doing anything…

The Boys is all about tearing down false idols, but it doesn’t build up anything in their place.

They take it much easier than the comic and it plays mostly off screen.

The rape is implied and not shown on-screen. Amazon is careful with its warning tags.

I watched the first episode last night and to my surprise it was actually pretty good.

Unfortunately it’s not getting episodic coverage, which is par for the course here at the ye ole A.V. CLUB.

There weren’t any onscreen sexual assaults.

CanCan we get some more original reviews on this show?  I've really enjoyed it so far, but all I read is that it has nothing to say.  Not my impression at all

How is it racist? And there are other black superheroes in the show.
