Man Bites Dog?

That’s not an uncommon opinion, at all. I, on the other hand, was haunted by the film for days and still shudder at the sight of handprints on a wall, and I’m not an easy mark.

She was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter, which is different than murder, both legally and by the way words and meaning work.

Are you fucking kidding me? GTFO with that “spolier” bullshit. This isn’t the next damn Star Wars movie.

I’m sorry, but there’s a fine line between “just do it already” and her fucking telling him to get back into the car when he was scared and having doubts.

I haven´t seen the documentary and I obviously think that not every case is the same. In my experience, my dad used to threaten to kill himself all the time to manipulate my mom, ever since me and my siblings were babies, when my mom finally decided to leave him, he used to call every day with the same threats, and

What context is there for encouraging a person you purport to love for weeks on end to kill themselves that makes that behavior the least bit tolerable?

Duh, he was Paul on the Wonder Years.

Jeezus Christ remember when AV Club had actual writing? Actual opinions and critical analysis? What is this shit? There’s NOTHING here! Repost some crap and a little bit of jokey text and call it a day? F for effort and F for content. God I hate what this site has become.

I was actually just thinking this was much better than the usual Great Job, Internet! posts. These were always the quickest, laziest “articles,” by its very nature just re-posting content from elsewhere online. The name of the Mayor is Larry Kline, which is also an amalgam of “Larry”, the name of the obnoxious upstairs neighbor on Three’s Company, and the name of the actor who played him, Richard Kline.

Actually, your analysis is a bit off. It’s not about being put out to pasture. The article is referring to the trope where parents tell their kids the dog went to a farm instead of telling them its dead. I think the article is funny and clever. Maybe the humor involved is too urban for you?

I won’t go as far to say anachronism, but one thing struck me having lived in a similarly-sized midwestern town in 1985.

Here’s the thing though: (most) people don’t look forward to the gym, but people love to watch movies.

This season is amazing. It’s as much fun as I’ve had watching TV in a long time. I started with the season last night, intending that I’d just watch one episode (before getting back to a lengthy to-do list) and ended up watching the first 7 episodes.

OK, one nitpick from an 80s kid: While the point about Walmart is timely now, I don’t remember many malls in the 80s having a grocery store. So Joyce’s work, in theory, shouldn’t be hit as hard as the other businesses downtown.

He’s Judge Reinhold in Fast Times.

Come on, just a quick piece on the final episode. It’s amazing!! Need to discuss
