Reno 911 > The Office when it comes to faux workplace documentary comedies. And it’s a million times more fucked up, but is essentially un-cancellable.

It was never said or even suggested at any point during the show that Dwight was autistic, nor does his behaviour point to that. He was just a jerk.  Someone just tweeted that because people on the internet are contrarian morons.

Wait, when did Dwight become autistic? I always thought he was an asshole because he was raised in a weird religious subculture. This is actually kind of an insult to autistic people.

Different climate?

Ha, Ryan would absolutely be big into crypto.  Nailed that.

A lot of this makes sense/is familiar to me, given the ways that I see my students approach critical analysis of texts and film/TV (I teach literature and popular culture stuff). One of the more disheartening trends I see is that when students get to me, they report that the didn’t actually read books in junior high

This stuff is kinda funny, because maybe it is a generational thing that for some reason Gen Z really likes to act like they are just “discovering” tons of things that have existed forever, or an obsession with explaining things in a way that is very over the top when it’s actually a simple concept we’ve been doing

The other one going around these days that I really like is the comparison of how many kids have been molested at a drag brunch vs at church.

I remember when Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew divorced and she was something of a sensation: a commoner who was scandalous and was ready to spill about the Royals. She even got the Oprah interview!

I have heard very little about them, and even the little I hear is because I follow Jez. They are far from oversaturation.

Victim blaming a 7 year old is “getting hit by a car driven by God” level offense.

Ugh, it is child sexual abuse again.... but at least this one’s not on us!!!

This is part of why we don’t go to church. It’s filled with groomers and pedophiles and sycophants desperate to protect them so they can feel superior for forgiving an abuser. I choose to protect my child from predators and ensure he’s only exposed to more wholesome and accountable communities like the LGBTQ+

It’s SO good.

Well, they might have broken away at some point but I think they would have been able to stay in and stay quiet for longer if the royals hadn’t used them to cover for Andrew and Will and Kate’s marital choices among other things.

Maybe, but it’s not like that’s ever stopped media from being successful.

Listen, I love a biopic. The messier the better, ok? But this movie was TORTUOUSLY BAD and I say that as someone who regularly rewatches that “The Jacksons: An American Dream” miniseries recreationally.

-also-

It would be nice if a celebrity once came forward about their child’s nepotism work and said, “honestly they’re bad and got the job because of me, but what are you going to do”.

I work in the industry and the discussions that we've had is that there are still 13, 14, 15 year old girls dresses up as women in their 20s and this whole balenciaga thing is the tipping point for using underage to sell to adults. We all knew the bear from the runway show so that didn't really offend us.  It's
