I tried and failed five birth control methods before success with a hormonal IUD. The patch and pills made me nearly insane. The ring kept falling out. I guess fewer hormones (plus no estrogen) get into the bloodstream and I’ve had barely any side effects.

I got into a fight with someone on tiktok because she claimed since other countries regularly use deworming pills, that everyone in the US must be riddled with worms. I tried to explained the myriad reason that is just flat out untrue. But I was attacked by dozens of people who called me a disgusting racist person…

At first I thought TikTok would open people’s minds with a more nuanced view into the lives of others, thus creating more of a discourse between those who are different…. But the algorithm just further radicalizes people into ideas they were already flirting with. It’s like Youtube, but with worse dancing.

Oh my company still does this. We get extra half day PTO if we donate.

Thank you. It’s been over ten years, so things are much better now. I think there’s a lot of old-school family (and perhaps religious) pressures on marriages. I was raised Catholic, so to them, divorce was a flat out failure on my part.

I get what you are saying, but you are viewing this situation as very black and white. Her crime was being stupid and careless, or perhaps arrogant.

For me it was a combination of low self esteem, depression, anxiety, and thinking the behavior of others is all my responsibility. Oh and moving back in with a mother who said I should have tried harder in my relationship and not gained so much weight.

Although she certainly has more power and sway than any 90s rock band, I don’t think antitrust statutes have changed all that much. I hope I am wrong. 

Those of us who lived through the 90s know Ticketmaster will never be taken down.
