You can stack prismatic batteries together better, so more energy/volume. Prismatic just means square in this case. Since cars use hundreds of cells, you end up with a bunch of little cylinders in a box right now. If it was a bunch of little squares you wouldn’t have all the air in between the cylinders. Hexagonal

That Econoline is pretty sweet, maybe a bit overpriced. Gen 2s don’t get as much love but are definitely cool, and can be had for half the price, and V8!

Was it actually done by Lotus, or done by someone using Lotus SHARK? Haha half the SAE student cars have “handling by Lotus” in that case.

Roadkill got it right when they dropped one from a helicopter.

Datsun raced in the early 70s with a sponsorship from Sears - and so they ran Sears-brand radial tires on their rally cars a few times.

I use a bluetooth cassette tape in a casette-to-8-track adapter in the dealer-optioned 8 track player in the glovebox of my ‘78 280Z. The tape adapter has a little microphone on a cord that I extended and hid behind the dash, so I can even take hands-free calls in my 4-decade old car...

“wind chills of 40, 50, even 60 degrees below zero—and that’s in Fahrenheit”

Different engines have different efficiency curves.

My 1987 Supra had more electronic gadgets than the Z... It’s a 2009, but Nissan spent all the money on the VQ and not on other things like, I don’t know, a dash display that isn’t a 128x128 pixel 1 color LCD. Or a 12V power plug where you can reach it (it’s in the passenger footwell). Or a cupholder.

That’s what I did, but it looks messy which aggregates me since the rest of the dash is relatively uncluttered.

I have a base model 2014 370Z, it has physical switches for everything, no touchscreen or screen of any sort for that matter. It doesn’t even have bluetooth.  I have to use an aux cable like a caveman.

Here’s a pic for proof:

Great car. Buy an NA, non-targa car - the turbo ones are way more work to keep running and only slightly less slow. I dailied an 87 for a while until someone ran a stop sign and totaled it.  These really are a GT car more than anything sporty, all about enjoying the drive rather than hitting all the apexes.

Some cars turned them into exterior features. Nissan used them to put more Z badges on the late 240Z-280Z:

How can I also sell used Altima headlights for $2k a pair? Or used wheels and tires for $1700? This is a bad infographic, as it is comparing used car prices to OEM fantasyland parts prices - the used parts value is probably closer to 1/3 of what is shown here (for many items - full disclaimer, I did not look up

Pretty sure it is a straight shot up 95 until NC.

CREE bulbs at HD are .99 each for 5000K or 2700K 60W replacements (I think like 800 lumens each). I paid $3.96 for this 4 pack in store ($20 online for some reason).

Hilariously the 195/70R14s on the 280 are only 2" shorter (and 2" narrower) than the 245/40R19s on the 370 sport and NISMO models.

The decal package is a throwback to the ‘77 280Z “Zap!” decal package, which turned 40 this year (probably why it’s the “Heritage” package):
