Actually, none of the “experts” in your linked article suggested it was an “extremely bad practice”. Each basically said that they don’t know what the long term repercussions are, which is not the same thing at all as outright denouncing it as you suggest.

Have you actually tried it? Methinks not.

I’ve been using Soylent for about a year now and I love it. I still eat real food sometimes, but a lot of the time I get little joy out of shopping, cooking, cleaning, etc. Sometimes food is just sustenance and not some delicious memorable meal. For those “I’m just hungry and I want to not be hungry” moments, Soylent

I get why Soylent isn’t all that palatable to some (I got used to the non-taste and odd texture pretty quickly, FYI), but why do you say it isn’t affordable? Its about $3 or less per meal. I’m hard pressed to prepare anything substantial for less than $3.

Ok, the magnet thing is a bit weird, but Soylent is amazing. I don’t care what the dude believes in, I love having a convenient, satisfying meal ready with almost zero prep or clean-up. I still eat out with friends, but at least for breakfast and lunch, Soylent is the best thing ever.

Agreed, it seems pretty obvious to me. As others have mentioned, we’re raised with the cultural idea that if you’re really into someone you have to show them through persistence, and though Hollywood presents this in a way that would be straight-up creepy in real life, we all participate in some form or another.

Oh yes. Oh yes. Perfect addition to the cast. Whoever he is I hope he teams up with Sir Davos. That pairing might make us all forget about Jon.

Yeah, going to come out for part of it anyway.

I’ve never been able to make it out to Pickathon... one of these years.

Right. It isn’t that they are unbelievable stores, but they just stick out like a sore thumb. Usually, fight scenes are filmed in front of non-descript buildings.

My Samsung S3 has been near death for months. Regularly will shut down and restart itself over and over again (several times in a row) before settling down. Freezes up about 50% of the time I try to use the camera. Also the first smartphone screen (of 4) I’ve ever managed to crack. Arbitrarily decides when I should or

I was going to post that I was terrified of the day my iPod classic will meet its death, but I am overjoyed to learn that this is a possibility.

Completely agree. Schulz comment is absurd. She’s foolish to think she’s somehow safer in the day as if a) the quake wouldn’t immediately wake you from sleep in the middle of the night and b) that it would be any easier to evacuate in the middle of the day.

Um, there is a college in Portland, OR that has a reactor on campus. No joke.

I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve uttered the words “that sounds like it could be a Portlandia episode” in response to real life stories of ridiculous actual people and stories here in Portland. Its about 2 times a week on average.

The Sound naturally rises and falls by a great deal. On a wide scale, it is fairly well built (geologically speaking) for this kind of rise. Not saying there won’t be flooding, just disputing the ‘no where to go’ bit.

It sounds like you’re envisioning a wall of water making its way into the Sound, but that’s not how it works. There will be flooding, but it won’t be like a catastrophic hit.

They’re baking in the heat, dangling from a bridge to support something they are obviously very passionate about and you’re fantasizing about them being hanged dead. Who is the better person here?

I love that you have an Occupy fist as your avatar, but you’re bitching about activists making you sit in your gas-guzzler longer than normal. I’d +1 you for the amazing irony here, but only if I could also -5 you for being an asshat.
