I’ve read some more information about Kimishima. The guy who decided Americans would like Pokémon, and oversaw NoA during the GameCube era, sounds alright to me. It shows that he may try to send Wii U out with a bang before the NX arrives.

Well if they go that route, maybe people will be able to get the Amiibos they actually want.

It doesn’t help that Kotaku purposefully picked the least fun picture of him they could find.

Iwata looked at the short-term, the long-term, and figured that Nintendo could still make the most money by marrying software to proprietary hardware. I’ve been following Nintendo for a very long time. I didn’t need a lesson in how they’ve operated in the past.

Iwata did just that, too. What he did, the decisions he made, they were to make money.

The president of any public company is more likely to follow the money (they have to, share holders will want to make sure of that). Make no mistake, Iwata was following the money, too. His strategies were motivated by money.
