Do you think you're not attracted because you are not exposed to many white men?

I was aware of that but it's just so shocking to hear that's considered okay. I cannot frown hard enough at that.

I think my only real dealbreakers are religion and politics. I couldn't be serious about a Republican and I couldn't date someone who wasn't a member of a Judeo-Christian faith. I don't really care about their level of religiosity, but just having a belief in the same God as me is important. Also, I do not actually

I grew up in a bigger city in southern Indiana so it's very possible I missed it. I'm aware there are plenty of places I wouldn't want to have car trouble in the state. I just assume that's all over though.

Do you think that highest membership thing is still true? I've always lived in IN and have never really thought it was Klan heavy, at least not in the last 2 decades.

Stop, that one was too good! I'm cracking up.

My mom is the best non-apologist ever. She always says stuff like "I'm sorry what I said made you feel that way." It makes me rage and then crack up because it's like she cannot help herself.

I've seen enough Supernatural to know this shit is a bad idea.

I read Telling Christina Goodbye in the sixth grade and spent the next two years reading all those mopey books I could get my hands on. Why were those so popular? Nothing but depressing ends all the time!

I'm 21 now but the year I was 8 our state cut the funding for our handwriting books so we never did it after that year, and no other classes had it after. Most of my senior class couldn't sign their names on the forms necessary for graduation. It was hilarious and sad really.

I feel the same way and feel like a shit feminist for it. I'm glad that apparently I'm not the only one. I don't really care what anyone else is doing, I just don't get it at all.

I found that Kate reply and agree about that. My first thought as a POC is that the OP was considering the possibility they were a little bit racist, not just acknowledging the possibility they could honestly be affected by institutional racism.

I found it! And that totally makes sense, acknowledging the possible structural racism as a reason for some of their dislike. (This commenting setup is not the best but I still love it hardcore in comparison to the io9 setup. I am going to cry if/when they change it over here.)

I've had a lot of time to think about it! Everyone in my family eats his stuff up with a spoon (except this movie, thank god) so I've had plenty of time to rationalize it.

(I think)

I agree with this. A really good criticism (which this review almost is) would have looked into black evangelical Christianity and it's role in successful black films. I don't think you're saying there is depth/nuance to his films, just that they are definitely influenced by greater social issues. I personally think

I was about to get real upset that hunty was a bad thing and I just didn't get it/know. I thought it was like mornting, that's all. But besides that, even if it was honey/c-nt I wouldn't care. I don't understand why I should be so offended by c-nt and not d-ck.

This made me want to set up a dating/parenting site so people can do just this.

YES TO ALL THE ABOVE. I live with my younger, also natural sister and she is always buying up oils and butters and all types of magic hair stuff. She mixes up new products and I steal them because I can't resist the temptation. Nobody warned me I would become addicted to products and supplies when I went natural!

I thought they were talking about the band too! I Alone is so good.
