I like Beyonce. Her recent stuff has been just okay with some good jams here and there. Love DC, was interested in the reunion. But I still thought it was just meh. I expected her to bring it, especially after the anthem snafu and she didn't. It was just okay while being visually good (the screens with her multiplying

I remember that vaguely but I just now realized that was supposed to be Wuthering Heights! In my head it was just an original crap tv movie, not an adaptation. What was wrong with music tv back then?

I will not even front like I don't know/love that. It made me into that story which lead me to love the original Bizet. Yeah it's awful, but no one can take away my guilty pleasure! Actually my sister had a copy of the soundtrack. I played it until the CD skipped too much and it was officially dead.

Yes, I do. I'd rather kids be the way they want to and deal with the maybe, possible fallout later. Why can't people say "fuck those kids, be you" instead of telling kids to stay in a box so they won't be too out there? I've got a nephew and I'm the aunt that shoots his mother down as soon as the words "You're a boy,

I don't know any boys who think it's too girly. It is very gender neutral and that's great, the only problem is that plenty of boys don't want a girl all over their merch. It's sad that little kids can be socialized to hate things that don't fit a generic representation of their gender but it's true. And I'm sure

Personally I think it's mostly society/parents. Little kids can be vicious to each other, I know you're aware of that, and parents can easily just want their kids to be "normal" or whatever. I know my 2 yr old nephew loves stealing his sister's stuff and loves the kitchen set they share but I wonder if that'll last

I think her origins aren't really hyped as much anymore, now she's just the only female and therefore one of the coolest. I'm saying that keeping her special is likely why they didn't add more females in the movie. Is that right? Hell no, you're totally right that they could have easily added in more and made it more

You are not the only one who loved it! I have a deep love for the Maguire one, but his Peter Parker was not that engaging, that's facts. The newer one was just better, and felt more genuine. It wasn't even that similar to the old one and the similarities it did have were because they both used the same source

Not the OP, but isn't the cool thing about Smurfette is that she is the only female? Or pretty much anyway. I thought if they added in a bunch of new female Smurfs, she wouldn't be as amazing to all the other Smurfs, because they'd have options. That sounded so terrible and is an argument for more female Smurfs right

It was a boy in the original Frankenweenie short, why would they have to change the original vision just to pile in female characters? It's important for girls to be visible, I agree, but what made that short so great for me was that it dealt with a boy dealing with emotions that society tells him to get over. And

It's not really just for boys, it's just animal centric, that's his thing. He's got a girl that works with him or something, it's pretty unisex. But lets be honest here, plenty of 6 yr old boys do not want a backpack with a girl on it, so Diego fills that void. Before Diego, it was either a girl or Boots.
