I saw Nick Offerman in a stage adaptation of the book here in Boston, and it was delightful.

I grew up in PA and ate LJS a lot; in college they basically did a two-for-one offer for a student discount, and my friend and I would go and get four meals. Good call too on the ‘trapezoidal’ nature of the fish plank, and the fact that everything is basically the same color.

I can think of at least one thing wrong with that title.

I live in MA; we don’t use AC, so we’ve made do with the above advice: ceiling, oscillating and box fans, opening the windows, blocking the sun. During the summer, it’s usually in the low-to-mid 80s in our apartment when I come home from work, and we can get our bedroom pretty comfortable with two or three strategic

I manage two teams of software engineers, but still have some desk work I need to do every day, so I try to block off 3-4 half-hour Pomodoros. For each one, I put together a 25-minute playlist pulled randomly from a catalog of a few hundred songs, and put on my headphones; if I get interrupted, I restart the song I’m

I hear Croatian kids are just like American kids...

Amazon Warehouses will also get in on the wacky fun by paying their employees $1 an hour.

Jawbox’s For Your Own Special Sweetheart was the first thing that came to mind, and the Dismemberment Plan’s Emergency & I was the second. Also Braid’s Frame and Canvas, June of 44's Four Great Points, and Hum’s Downward is Heavenward.

That’s my favorite Karate album too. In ‘98 my band opened for them in a basement in State College, PA when they were touring that record, one of my favorite shows I ever played.

Pure Guava is the third Ween album.

Nice call on Mr Bungle.  For Fugazi, I’m partial to Red Medicine, but In on the Kill Taker is also incredible and certainly meets the criteria set above for the third album being the most important.

Today I learned that Kevlar Hog Vests are apparently a thing.

That’s because none of them watched the trailer, and believe the ‘elites’ win.  Makes for much better outrage!

I binge-watched Six Feet Under in the late ‘00s (by buying the DVD seasons cheap on Amazon, a move suspended in time) and was surprised how much of a soap opera it ultimately became.  My wife would come home and ask me ‘are you watching your stories?’ and I would nod sadly.

Props to Mystery Men, a bizarre, expensive and endlessly quotable movie before its time. I also have seen Hands on a Hardbody! It’s great. Glad to see South Park, Galaxy Quest and Run Lola Run here.

A nation of children who will never appreciate Police Academy 5: Assignment: Miami Beach.

I just hope this doesn’t hurt her poll numbers.

This seems far too curated to actually reflect user data, even if relative to other states. If ‘kale’ was the answer for a dozen states, I would buy it. ‘Dabbing pizza grease with a napkin’?  Absolutely no way.

I was reading this and thinking, ‘Wow, that really reminds me of an awesome appetizer I had at a bar in Missoula once...’ and this was the place!
