Obviously you can cancel subsequent deliveries, but it’s a pretty weird promotion to do for rechargables, where the whole point is that you don’t need to replace them periodically (or if you do, it’s on the scale of years rather than months).

All of that is true, but changing professions probably sounds preferable to him compared with potentially going to jail.

Good! Georgia next!

So among other things it needs seat belts and a VIN for that. I know you plan to retrofit some belts, but does this thing even have a VIN? If not that seems like a harder problem to solve legally.

Someone called the cops on David Tracy because she was concerned that there was a mailman parked in front of her house in the middle of the night...

Those should be generated based on your browsing history. I don’t know, I get bicycle parts in that sort of ad block...

She looks reasonably mid-20's to me. Her mom/mother-in-law who is only 16 years older however, I thought she was an old man until someone pointed out there were two women...

I’m not sure how that is relevant? DUI stops make up a tiny proportion of traffic stops. You could keep those if you want and still get rid of most of the badness with traffic stops. Indeed it’s probably possible to train an AI to spot erratic drivers who should be targeted for DUI stops. Better use of resources than

Worth recalling Jezebel’s hard hitting exposé:

And I said that we would have to make speed limits reasonable, and drastically decrease penalties.

The EU has actually passed some guidance calling for cars to have GPS informed speed limiters. I’m not sure that’s a great idea (as much because I doubt the reliability and accuracy as anything else), but it is certainly an idea.

But is it as cool as a free Tibet?

It is nice. It would be better to just boost the posted speed limits of course. One problem with the system where everyone breaks the law a bit is that it lets the police use their discretion in who to pull over, which might sound good until you realize that their discretion is probably biased. I don’t have broad

Why? If we want to have speed limits, we need some mechanism to enforce them, or they won’t be followed. So why not have fair and objective enforcement (with reasonable and proportional penalties)?

It seems like we are nearing the point where we could do most if not all traffic enforcement with cameras or other similar monitoring. Obviously in order for that to be reasonable, we need to make sure speed limits are actually appropriate, and need to understand that if you can fine every offender, there’s no need

That would be better. It does seem like if you know you are getting in late to give them a call so they don’t think you are just a no show.

If you are going to be taking off your tires to rotate them yourself, or to switch summer and winter tires, or to do more advanced maintenance, I’d recommend some more stuff:

There are way too many rocket scientists living in Alabama, Florida, and Texas for you to need to wait on them. The stories must be out there!
